2) Messaging Program Description
Boomerang may send messages (SMS, WhatsApp, or voice) only to users who have provided consent or are engaged in a customer-initiated conversation.
- Use cases: appointment confirmations, customer support, service notifications, conversational surveys/feedback, and operational updates.
- Sender identification: messages identify Boomerang (or the customer brand that collected the opt-in) as the sender.
- Frequency: varies by use case and user interaction (e.g.,
1 msg/requestor a small number of messages around an appointment). - Carrier charges: message & data rates may apply.
3) Consent, Opt-In, and Opt-Out
We require explicit permission before sending promotional or automated messages. Consent can be collected via web forms, inbound messages, QR flows, or voice confirmations.
Opt-In (How users subscribe)
- Users submit a form and check a consent box to receive messages.
- Users initiate a conversation by texting the business first.
- Users verbally agree during a call (when applicable).
We store the opt-in source and timestamp for audit and compliance.
Opt-Out (How users unsubscribe)
- Reply STOP to unsubscribe at any time.
- Reply HELP for help and support contact.
- After opt-out, we stop sending further automated messages unless the user re-subscribes.
Our first message may include an opt-out disclosure like: Reply STOP to unsubscribe.
5) Acceptable Use (Anti-Spam & Prohibited Content)
Boomerang does not support spam, deceptive messaging, or prohibited content. We enforce compliance controls and may suspend accounts that violate policies.
- No purchased lists or unsolicited bulk messaging.
- No phishing, fraud, deceptive claims, or impersonation.
- No harassment, hate, or illegal content.
- Customer must have a lawful basis to contact recipients.
- We do not sell or share mobile phone numbers with third parties for marketing.
We align our messaging practices with provider policies and industry standards, including standard STOP/HELP handling and sender identification.
